The Santa Barbara Flyers is a non-profit dog Agility and Obedience club, founded in 1985 and incorporated in 2011. The Santa Barbara Flyers provide Dog Agility and Dog Obedience training and weekly practice sessions for dog lovers in the Santa Barbara community.
Santa Barbara Flyers Mission Statement:
To encourage the ownership of dogs, both pure-bred and mixed breed, for their general well-being and to improve the dog/human bond to their mutual advantages.
To provide healthy exercise for dog-and-owner teams in a safe and stimulating environment.
To promote public awareness of the proper care and training of dogs and to provide educational opportunities to the general public to learn about good dog training and stewardship techniques.
To provide classes and practice sessions in Dog Agility, Dog Obedience, Rally, and other dog sports, for the purpose of competing in AKC (American Kennel Club), USDAA (United States Dog Agility Association), and UKI (UK Agility International) sanctioned events.
To give back to the community by providing Dog Agility, Dog Obedience and Rally demonstrations at local events and for the elderly at their group residences.
To work in a partnership with local dog rescue groups to help re-home and train new canine adoptees.
